All marriages need attention, effort and nurturing.
Minnesota Marriage Encounter provides an opportunity for you to explore your relationship together and find ways to make it more fulfilling and stronger for a lifetime. The weekend format helps couples communicate openly and honestly. There is no group sharing on a Minnesota Marriage Encounter weekend.
What is interesting is that most of us don’t spend enough time nurturing our marriages. We will spend years getting an education or training for our jobs and careers. We go to seminars, read trade publications and take continuing education classes to keep our job skills sharp but we are lucky to get a night out together as a couple once every month or two. There are few jobs that have the commitment “as long as we both shall live.” It is crucial to put as much enthusiasm and work into our marriages as we do our jobs and physical improvement.
The weekend was better than we’d hoped for – and we already had high hopes going into it! If Pam and Steve gave us good feedback, it definitely wasn’t just down to me and Liz – a healthy slice of that credit needs to go to them as amazing teachers.
Becoming a Team Couple We decided to become a team couple after our weekend retreat in September 2016. I have always been interested in helping married couples (even before I found Seth!) but I wasn’t sure how to do this. After having a wonderful and revitalizing...

“Great marriages don’t just happen. Couples create them!”
A Marriage Encounter is for happily married couples, couples who are experiencing stressful times and don’t feel like they are going in the same direction, couples who argue more than they talk, couples who don’t feel like they know each other anymore, and couples whose homes and lives make it difficult to spend enough time alone together.
Get away from the distractions of everyday life and focus on each other.
We guarantee it will be the best gift you can give each other, your children and generations to come!
The team couples set an atmosphere for open and loving communication. They model the method, and share their own life experiences, making it easier for spouses to talk with each other.
Although your conversations are private between you and your spouse, seeing other couples striving for a better relationship makes it easier for you to communicate openly and honestly.
